Bookstore & Chill: Chapter I

  • The Lit. Bar 131 Alexander Avenue Bronx United States (map)

Grand Opening/National Indie Bookstore Day Turn Up

In October 2014, Bronx native and resident, Noëlle Santos, joined over 3,000 protesters to save the only bookstore in the borough from displacement. It closed its doors at the end of 2016--leaving a community of 1.5 million people without a single bookstore. Noëlle set out on a four-year journey full of "surprises" and triumphs to bring a literary hub (and wine bar!) back to the Bronx. Join us for this historic event in celebration of the opening of The Lit. Bar on National Independent Bookstore Day.
